This podcast discusses some of the pitfalls of differentiation and explores how a broader understanding of it may lead to better outcomes for our learners. It draws upon the thoughts of Carol Ann Tomlinson and others to consider ways of ensuring that every learner experiences the desirable difficulties that lead to improvement. Differentiation relates more to addressing students' different phases of learning from novice to capable to proficient rather than merely providing different activities to different (groups of) students.
