At Gower College, we recognised that the jump from GCSE to A level was huge for some learners, particularly those who may have had an adverse school experience or for other reasons did not reach their potential and achieve the entry requirements for A levels. The Foundation A level programme was designed for learners to have the opportunity to increase their GCSE profile, use the year to academically mature and put themselves in an optimum position to progress onto A levels or a Level 3 vocational programme, all whilst having the experience and freedom of studying in a college environment.
