ColegauCymru is pleased to share a podcast which will look provision for additional learning needs in further education in the context of the incoming Additional Learning Needs and Educational Tribunal (Wales) Act (ALNET Act).

In this first podcast, ColegauCymru ALN Transformation Lead for FE, Chris Denham, talks to Greg Cavill, Inclusion Manager at Bridgend College, about his priorities as he starts his new role in Wales.

Greg previously worked in a large college in England and has first hand experience of the changes brought about by the SEND reforms there. This gives him a unique perspective that will be extremely valuable to both Bridgend College and the FE sector as a whole as we all prepare for the implementation of the ALNET Act.

Chris Denham said,

“It was great to have the opportunity to chat with Greg who has already worked through the implementation of SEND reforms. His insight is valuable, and this episode will be a useful go-to for all FE colleagues working in ALN provision in further education in Wales.”

Greg Cavill added,

“I was pleased to be able to share my experience from working in England.  There are many challenges facing colleges as we move towards ALN implementation, but so many opportunities too to get things right for our learners.”
