Yesterday saw the ColegauCymru FE Multisport Event return for its fourth year!

Hosted at Pembrey Country Park on Wednesday 15 May 2024, the Tri Active Cymru (TAC) Duathlon (1km Run / 4km Bike / 1km Run), designed for all abilities, provided an opportunity for 400 learners in further education settings to participate in their first multisport event. With over 40% of participants having additional learning needs, this Duathlon truly provided a fully inclusive and fun approach to sport and activity in FE.

ColegauCymru Sport and Active Wellbeing Project Manager, Rob Baynham, said,

“It was great to see so many learners and staff take part at yesterday’s inclusive duathlon. Now in its fourth year, and with plans underway to expand to North and South-East Wales, the event is going from strength to strength. We’re encouraged to see our member colleges recognising the value in supporting their learners to get fit and active.”

Groups of learners from Coleg Sir Gar and Gower College Swansea were also trained by Welsh Triathlon as volunteer marshals for the event, providing them with valuable experience around multisport activity.

We were delighted to welcome Bridgend College, Coleg Sir Gar, Coleg y Cymoedd, Gower College Swansea, NPTC Group of Colleges, Pembrokeshire College, The College Merthyr Tydfil and Walsall College to the event.
