ColegauCymru is delighted to celebrate Apprenticeship Week Wales 2025, a time to highlight the transformative impact of apprenticeships on learners, businesses, and the Welsh economy. As an important pathway to meaningful employment, apprenticeships continue to provide learners with the essential skills, knowledge, and experience they need to thrive in the workplace.
Throughout the week, colleges across Wales will showcase the success stories of apprentices who have gained valuable qualifications and hands-on experience while earning a wage. From engineering and healthcare to digital technologies and the creative industries, apprenticeships remain a dynamic and responsive route into sustainable careers.
As part of the celebrations and in partnership with the National Training Federation for Wales (NTFW), ColegauCymru is proud to host an Apprenticeship Fayre at the Senedd on Wednesday, 12 February 2025. Hosted by the Cross-Party Group on Apprenticeships, co-chaired by Luke Fletcher MS and Joyce Watson MS, this event will bring together exhibitors from further education colleges and training providers to showcase the breadth of apprenticeship opportunities available in Wales.
Visitors to the Senedd event will have the chance to engage with hands-on demonstrations, including virtual welding, model aeroplane engineering, and vehicle body refinishing. These interactive exhibits will offer a fascinating insight into the practical skills developed through apprenticeship programmes, highlighting their role in equipping learners for high-quality careers.
We will also welcome to the event the Welsh Government Minister for Further and Higher Education, Vikki Howells MS.
ColegauCymru Chief Executive, David Hagendyk, said,
“Apprenticeships are crucial for building a skilled workforce and supporting the Welsh economy. They offer life-changing opportunities for individuals to earn, learn, and progress while helping businesses grow and succeed.
We are proud to celebrate the achievements of apprentices during Apprenticeship Week Wales and reaffirm our commitment to championing this essential pathway for learners and employers alike.”
ColegauCymru remains committed to supporting the development of high-quality apprenticeship programmes that benefit individuals, employers, and communities across Wales.
