ColegauCymru is pleased to be supporting Welsh Government Apprenticeship Week which takes place between 7–13 February 2022.

This annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships promotes the value they bring to both learners and employers across Wales. Employers will have an opportunity to promote the great work of their apprentices, whilst highlighting the many benefits they bring to their business. Apprentices, at all stages of their learning will also be celebrated.

ColegauCymru Director of Development Kelly Edwards said:

“Apprenticeship Week Wales is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the value of apprenticeship programmes to all aspects of Welsh life and that they are a vital part of the economic recovery and prosperity of Wales in a post-Covid world. We’re delighted to promote the hard work of learners, practitioners and businesses alike for the valuable contribution they make.”

Dr Barry Walters, Principal of Pembrokeshire College, and ColegauCymru Work-Based Learning Strategic Group Chair added:

“ColegauCymru has today welcomed the Welsh Government commitment to invest £366m in apprenticeship programmes and is heartened by their recognition of the value they bring. The investment will help build an economy based on the principles of fair work, sustainability and the industries and services of the future, increasing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to develop transferable skills in the workplace and improve their lives.”
