ColegauCymru today welcomes the Minister for Education’s announcement confirming that staff and learners in secondary schools and colleges will be expected to wear face coverings in all areas outside the classroom and on school/college transport.

The further education sector already follows voluntary guidelines for the use of face coverings due to the broad age range of our young adult and adult learners. It is vital that learners, staff and parents have confidence in our education establishments. Any steps to help make learning environments as safe as possible are to be welcomed.

ColegauCymru Chief Executive Iestyn Davies said,

“The FE sector always follows guidance set by Welsh Government and Public Health Wales. Learners and staff safety is and continues to be our primary concern during these challenging times.”
