ColegauCymru is delighted to announce the return of our Annual Conference which will take place on 24 October at Cardiff City Stadium, with a conference dinner the evening before at Hilton Hotel, Cardiff.
The Conference Dinner, sponsored by Agored Cymru, will hear from broadcaster Jason Mohammad, who will share reflections on his journey from college to his glittering media career.
The Conference, sponsored by City & Guilds, promises to bring together 200 key stakeholders, educators and industry leaders, from across Wales and beyond to demonstrate the value of further education and share thinking on the challenges ahead.
ColegauCymru Chief Executive, David Hagendyk, said
“The ColegauCymru Annual Conference and Dinner is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the FE sector and to work together on shaping a shared vision for our future. With the collective efforts of our colleagues, we can ensure that further education continues to play a pivotal role in empowering learners and driving economic recovery and social progress in Wales.”
Conference Keynote Address
We are delighted that we will be joined by the Welsh Government Minister for Further and Higher Education Vikki Howells MS, Wales’ Chief Economist Dr Thomas Nicholls, and the Future Generations Commissioner, Derek Walker, as keynote speakers.
The Conference offers a moment to reflect and network, and crucially look to the future together, as we embrace the transformational changes ahead in the way post-16 education is governed and delivered in Wales. The Conference will also provide an opportunity for delegates to consider what Wales needs from colleges in the future, and how we can collectively respond to the changing skills needs presented by global megatrends. ColegauCymru is committed to working with the Welsh Government and sector partners to deliver a stronger, greener and fairer Wales.

The conference will host a range of workshop sessions exploring key themes, including:
