With entries from categories including Traineeships Learner of the Year (Engagement), Traineeships Learner of the Year (Level 1), Foundation Apprentice of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Higher Apprentice of the Year and Tomorrow’s Talent, we're pleased that the efforts of learners from Coleg Gwent, Pembrokeshire College, NPTC Group of Colleges, Coleg Cambria, Coleg y Cymoedd and Bridgend College are being celebrated.
Dr Barry Walters, Principal of Pembrokeshire College, who chairs the ColegauCymru WBL Strategic Group said,
“The Welsh Government Apprenticeship Awards are a welcome recognition of the value of apprenticeship programmes here in Wales. As we emerge from a particularly challenging period, we’re delighted that the hard work of learners, practitioners and businesses are getting the acknowledgement they so deserve.”
The virtual event will take place on Thursday 17 June and will showcase the outstanding achievements of Wales’ inspirational learners, successful employers and dedicated learning practitioners who have gone above and beyond during these unprecedented times. The awards will recognise the talent and on-going commitment of those who contribute to the Welsh Government’s Employability and Apprenticeship Programmes.
ColegauCymru Chief Executive Iestyn Davies added,
“Apprenticeships are and continue to be a valuable tool, not only for learners but for the economic recovery and prosperity of Wales in a post-Covid world. It is heartening to see work-based learning programmes celebrated in this way.”
