In line with Welsh Government guidance, all further education institutions across Wales will close on the bank holiday declared for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral.
Colleges will close on Monday 19 September 2022. This bank holiday will operate in the same way as other bank holidays and will allow individuals, businesses and other organisations to pay their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate her reign, whilst marking the final day of the period of national mourning. Normal college attendance is expected throughout the national mourning period, other than the bank holiday.
The order for the funeral to be a bank holiday was approved by King Charles III at St. James’s Palace in Westminster as he was formally declared head of state.
