ColegauCymru is pleased to launch the new Cymraeg Gwaith+ scheme which has been tailored for staff in FE colleges who are keen to develop more confidence for using the Welsh language in the workplace.

The purpose of these sessions is to change linguistic habits and raise the confidence of speakers, so that they use Welsh when they would normally use English. This course is designed for staff who are learning Welsh at Intermediate and Advanced levels.

In the first instance, priority will be given to lecturing staff and staff who have an influence on the education of learners. We’re organising two Cymraeg Gwaith+ courses this year which will each offer 35 hours of provision over a 10-week period. The Centre’s ‘Codi Hyder’ course will be the foundation of the scheme.

The first course is set to start in the Autumn term, and the second, for a different group of learners, will start in the Spring term.

ColegauCymru Cymraeg Gwaith Project Coordinator, Nia Brodrick, said

“We’re pleased to have been able to respond to the call from FE for a more tailored provision. It’s encouraging to see so many learners wanting to improve their Welsh language skills in the context of the work they do.”
