The Committee chairs for the newly formed Senedd have been announced.
As the new Senedd gets under way in earnest, ColegauCymru looks forward to working with all committees to ensure robust scrutiny of the Welsh Government, effective legislating, and an efficient use of Members’ time, for the benefit of further education learners in Wales. We welcome all members to their important role at the heart of our democracy, and in particular those chairs whose committees reflect the immediate policy priorities of the charity.
Children, Young People and Education Committee
The CYPE Committee will be chaired by Labour MS, Jayne Bryant.
Health and Social Care Committee
The Health and Social Care Committee will be chaired by Welsh Conservatives MS, Russell George.
Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee
The Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee will be chaired by Welsh Conservatives MS, Paul Davies.
Iestyn Davies CEO of ColegauCymru said,
“We are looking for an early opportunity to discuss the priorities of each Committee with the Chair and research staff. The contribution of the Assembly and more recently Senedd Committees has strengthened the legislative process, ensured that the democratic voice is reflected in both debates and enquiries and that the Government and public bodies are held to account.”
