ColegauCymru, on behalf of our member colleges, is committed to helping to progress the anti-racist Wales agenda and is delighted to be establishing an official partnership with the Black Further Education Leadership Group (BFELG).

We are working together to build a Wales that is anti-racist, and one where all learners have the right to world-class education, delivered in a safe, diverse and inclusive setting, within a sector which supports the wider community, employers and the economy.

ColegauCymru Chair Guy Lacey, said,

“We’re keen to bring the anti-racist agenda to the forefront of the FE sector in Wales, working together to build a Wales that is anti-racist and to achieve the actions set out in the BFELG 10 Point Plan.”

Launch Event

Joining us for the online launch of this partnership on 1 December 2021 will be Welsh Government Minister for Social Justice, Jane Hutt MS. The event will highlight our ongoing work of ColegauCymru and joint priorities for the years ahead.

BFELG representatives will also talk about the 10-year goals for further education in Wales, with a focus on challenging racism, increasing attainment in skills and training outcomes amongst BAME learners, whilst also increasing ethnically diverse leadership and governance roles in FE.

A short panel discussion will allow for questions from delegates.
