We reflect on a series of Teachmeets that have seen over 25 presentations from lecturers and industry professionals sharing best practice and practical teaching tips with colleagues in the FE and work-based learning sectors, reaching over 250 college staff.

Funded by Welsh Government, the ColegauCymru Teaching and Learning Network series of Teachmeets were designed to provide an opportunity to support knowledge exchange, with 3 events taking place in the Autumn and Spring terms of 2021/22. Each event had a specific focus, including Mental Health and Wellbeing, A Level Pedagogy, and Inspiring Innovative Teaching in FE Construction.

Positive feedback received and large delegate numbers confirmed the success of the events which tackled broad topics ranging from bilingual teaching and developing critical thinking skills, to the use of multi-sensory feedback and managing challenging classroom behaviour.

We’re hugely grateful to the contributions made by our member colleges including Bridgend College, Cardiff and Vale College, Coleg Gwent, Coleg y Cymoedd, St. David’s Sixth Form College, The College Merthyr Tydfil, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Coleg Sir Gar, Coleg Ceredigion, NPTC Group of Colleges, Gower College Swansea and Pembrokeshire College.

If you missed any of the events, you can watch again!
