Winter of Wellbeing - Outdoor Challenge 2022

ColegauCymru is delighted to share details of a project funded by Welsh Government to support further education settings to promote physical, mental, emotional wellbeing through increased access to creative, sporting and cultural activities. The funding forms part of the Renew and Reform plan which was announced in Autumn 2021 and is designed to support young people who have been adversely affected as a direct result of the Covid19 pandemic.

The project will fund activities at a local level including upskilling of sports learners as community coaches and providing activity experiences for less active learners and those groups most affected by the Pandemic. The project will culminate with an event where colleges will come together to try new activities and share experiences from the project.

Winter of Wellbeing - Outdoor Challenge 2022
30 - 31 March 2022

We’ll be joining forces with our partners The Outdoor Partnership and Sport Wales for this event which is designed to support less active college learners to engage in physical activities such as water sports, archery and indoor climbing which in turn will help promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

The event will be held at the Rock UK Summit centre in Trelewis. This facility provides a great location which is central to the FE colleges involved in an area where activity levels dropped significantly during the Pandemic.
