Taith is Wales’ international learning exchange programme creating life-changing opportunities to study, train, volunteer, and work all over the world. The programme is creating opportunities to broaden horizons, experience new ways of life, and bring back lessons to share with people at home. Taith provides opportunities for universities, further education colleges, schools, youth, and adult education organisations.

The programme started in 2022 and will run until 2026. It is supported by an investment of £65m from Welsh Government.

Funding opportunities through Taith are a cornerstone of CollegesWales International’s Internationalisation Strategy as spending time studying, training, volunteering or on work placements abroad broadens horizons, expands key skills and brings benefits to communities and organisations here in Wales.

Taith Pathway 1 funds outward and inward exchanges of learners, apprentices, and staff. There is also flexibility within the programme for organisations to apply for shorter duration exchanges to encourage more vulnerable learners to participate in overseas mobilities.

Taith Pathway 2 funding supports the development of international collaborative projects led by organisations in Wales. The focus is on developing, sharing and implementing innovative practices in education which address a specific issue or sector priority.

CollegesWales International is encouraged that young people from all backgrounds can benefit from these opportunities and that Wales is investing in a strong, international future for all its citizens.
